Polished Pet 2021 campaign | Paint your pet's nails this October!

Polished Man's fun fundraising initiative that involves man's best friend is back, Polished Pets!

Polished Man has enlisted the support of PETstock Australia & New Zealand again for the 2021 campaign to assist in the fight to end violence against children.

This incredible ongoing partnership will see pet owners and four-legged friends being able to spark much-needed conversations. PETstock has developed a vegan, non-toxic, edible nail polish that can be worn by cats, dogs, and furry friends alike.

Throughout October, customers can visit any
PETstock store and, for a $2 donation, treat their pet to a 'PET-i-cure' for a good cause.

Polished Man beneficiary MacKillop Family Services stands behind this collaboration as the engagement of pets is at the core of their program Paw Pals

Paw Pals is a canine-assisted learning program established from the early success of therapy dogs - an initiative that targeted young people who were already disengaged in education.

The program now delivers a trauma-informed curriculum that helps children and young people who have experienced violence, neglect, abuse, or other barriers to education to regain a love of learning.

A history of trauma can impact their ability to engage in school and have lifelong impacts if they are not given the support needed to heal and stay connected to their education.

No childhood should be lost to violence. With many confined to their homes due throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, child violence cases have risen; according to the Victorian Crime Statistics Agency, family incidents alone rose by 8.2% from March 2020 to March 2021. Making this year's Polished Man campaign more relevant than ever. Over the past seven years, Polished Man has encouraged 102,696 men, women, and non-binary people to 'Polish Up'.

Although last year's campaign looked a little different, with the help of a group of high-calibre ambassadors that walk on two and four legs, Polished Man raised an incredible $856,000.

“I’m honoured to be a part of the 2021 Polished Man Campaign because I believe everyone deserves the chance to live in a safe, supported and loving environment.

My aim is to help as much as I can to raise money and awareness and put a stop to this violence against children, not just in Australia but around the world; to help provide trauma support to those in need and to keep our precious children safe now AND in the future.” - Luke Jacobz, Actor, Presenter & Polished Man Ambassador.

With such fundraising efforts being channelled directly into the facilitation of trauma prevention via ygap's ongoing work and trauma recovery agencies, including the Australian Childhood Foundation, Paw Pals, SAMSN, Hagar Australia and the New York Center for Children, to assist victims of family violence.

Shane Young, CEO of PETstock, says the company jumped at the opportunity to be on board this year.

"There is no doubt that pets play an important role in the lives of children, often becoming their best friend and source of play, happiness and security for children right across the country. We wanted to jump on board again with this year's campaign to show our support and solidarity with the Polished Man mission.
As we all envision a future where there is no violence against children, and what better way than to gather the whole family, including your four-legged friends, and support this fight together."
Pets around Australia can sign up to fundraise, either individually or alongside their paw-rents at www.polishedman.com/polishedpet

Every pet that signs up and fundraises will receive a Polished Pet Starter Kit that includes an official bandana and pet-friendly polish - to enjoy a DIY manicure at home.

By November 15, the 'Polished Pet' with the most funds will be the face of the campaign for 2022!
