Lyka Pet Food crowns Winner of most Lykable Dog Competition

Lyka Pet Food just announced the winner of the first Australia’s most lykable dog competition, which helped two shelter dogs find their fur-ever home.

Lyka Pet Food’s search for Australia’s most lykable dog has officially come to a close, with the winners announced on Wednesday 15th May 2019.

Sean the Tibby Pug won the first place prize of a year's supply of Lyka dog food, tailored specifically to Tibby's needs.

Back in March, the company set out to find Australia’s most #Lykable dog and received well over 500 entrants in the competition

“We are truly grateful for the wonderful response we received about the competition and we couldn’t have succeeded without our partners at the SEQ K9 shelter,” says Anna Podolsky, Lyka Founder and CEO.

One winner, Sean the Tibby was chosen by judges Owen George of GC Mag, Agnes Beugnon of Australian Dog Lover Magazine, and Podolsky, along with four runners-up.

The four runners up were (feat. clockwise): Meisha the Greyhound, awarded Australia’s Most Popular Dog 2019, and Miles the Cavoodle, Jack the perfect poser, and Rosco the curious Boxer

The four runners-up will receive 1 month of Lyka Pet Food.

Importantly, the competition successfully helped two shelter dogs, Eddie and Layla find their home

Pam Whitwell from dog shelter SEQ K9 Rescue Inc, who was particularly fond of Eddie, said “Eddie came into our care from the Maryborough pound.

He received some amazing training whilst in care and to see him adopted to a lovely family is a joy all foster carers know well.

We wish Eddie all the best and hope that all rescue dogs get a second chance.”

Podolsky hopes the competition will grow in the future and give Lyka Pet Food a chance to provide quality healthy dog food to more pet owners.
