October 28, 2021 - Stress in Dogs: Yes, It Matters! Webinar

This Stress in Dogs - Yes it Matters! Live Webinar from Pet Professional Guild Australia is presented by Diane Garrod, PCT-A, BScj, FF1, CC1, is a founding member of the Pet Professional’s Guild for Force Free Trainers (PPG), and provides private consultations working with dog aggression and behaviour cases through her business Canine Transformations Learning, WA State, (celebrating 14 years) which was awarded 2016 and 2017 Best Business category Dog Trainer by Langley, WA Awards Committee.

She's an expert in aggression and behaviour issues with multiple certifications, which includes resource guarding and working with dogs that have behaviour challenges with people and other dogs. She recently released her new book Stress Matters – The Canine Emotional Detox (CED). Participants to this webinar will receive 20% off Diane's book when you attend this webinar!!

“The way a dog communicates alters the circuitry of their brain. On the flip side, the way a dog is communicated ‘to’ by family members (or others, including family pets, strange dogs and strange people) also alters the circuitry of their brain. Mindful communication equals transformation and behaviour change.”

Just in the way we communicate to our dogs can reduce stress, and increase a relationship (often eroded when a dog has behaviour challenges affecting how they are communicating). This is important in the implementation of a successful behaviour modification program. Releasing over-threshold stress is a key component to better results, retention and learning. Communication is two-way in a positive learning experience.

Learning Objectives:

✔️ Understanding what canine stress is and how important it is to understand stress
✔️ What the science is behind canine stress - plus a quick look at the data results
✔️ How important it is to release stress and what happens if we don't
✔️ The importance of establishing communication skills with your dog
✔️ What health issues can arise with stress - physical and behavioural
✔️ Overview of the CED protocol and how to implement it
✔️ Case research examples
