Petstock Foundation partners with Make-A-Wish Australia

The Petstock Foundation is thrilled to announce its partnership with Make-A-Wish Australia, becoming a Major Partner, to help grant pet wishes for critically ill children and their families.

As part of this partnership, the Petstock Foundation has committed to donating $250,000, enabling the granting of pet-related wishes for children with critical illnesses across the country. This represents the Petstock Foundation’s largest partnership to date.

"The Petstock Foundation is honoured to support Make-A-Wish in granting pet-related wishes for children facing unimaginable challenges,” says Head of the Petstock Foundation Jessica Curtis.

"We know the transformative power of pets in people’s lives, and this partnership underscores our belief in the extraordinary bond between pets and their owners, and we are proud to bring joy and comfort to families during difficult times."

Make-A-Wish CEO, Sally Bateman says, "We are delighted to welcome Petstock into the Wishforce as a Major Partner, helping to support our wish program and grant pet wishes to sick children and their families. We have seen first-hand the incredible impact pets have on wish kids and their families, bringing much needed joy back to childhood’s and creating a sense of fun, connection and companionship.

The generosity of the Petstock Foundation will have an immediate impact, allowing us to grant more wishes sooner and create an even greater impact for the children and families who it’s our privilege to support.”

The impact of pet wishes is demonstrated through wish kid Isla’s story. Isla was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia in 2021 when she was three years old.

Her wish was to ‘have a curly haired puppy of my own’ that could be her best friend and was granted in 2023 when she was seven.

Now a year on, the wish puppy, who Isla named Daisy, continues to bring joy and laughter to the whole family.

Pamela, Isla’s mum said “Isla’s wish gave us something to look forward to. A beautiful light at the end of the tunnel. After so much time apart, it helped us come together as a family and enjoy a positive experience together. And our puppy helps that happen over and over again everyday.”

In addition to the $250,000 donation, the Petstock Foundation will assist in providing essential products the families need to welcome their new pet properly through their local Petstock store.

Jessica says, “The Petstock Foundation exists to enable a better future for all pets, which includes ensuring that every pet and their family has the support they need to thrive. This partnership is an extension of our mission, as we work together with Make-A-Wish to bring joy and hope to these deserving families.”
