Cook like a Chef with Master Bowie

As we're celebrating International Chef Day on October 20, who better than Master Bowie to provide you with some inspiration in the kitchen not just for today, but many more special occasions!

National Pumpkin Day (on October 26) is a time to celebrate this highly versatile and nutritious fruit. Yes, pumpkin is botanically-speaking a fruit because it’s a seed-bearing structure of flowering plants. It can be adapted to both sweet and savoury recipes!

And what better time to cook … or carve up a big orange pumpkin than Halloween!

Master Bowie invites you to celebrate Pumpkin Day and Halloween with your pooches by baking them this easy and yummy pumpkin biscuits recipe. Not only do they taste delicious, but they are also healthy! Just ask Bowie – the always hungry canine star of the Bowie Drools e-book series – who gives his drool of approval with every bite!

Master Bowie Pumpkin Biscuits are rich in fibre, omega-3 and antioxidants, and even better, they can also be shared with the humans!

Master Bowie Pumpkin Biscuits Recipe


  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup cooked and mashed pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter (xylitol free)
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • Dog-friendly carob buttons (optional)


    1. Preheat the oven to 150°C (fan).

    2. Blend all the ingredients in a food processor until it resembles a dough. The dough will be more on the dry side, but it should be sticky enough that you can form a ball.

    3. Roll a tablespoon of the dough into a ball and place it on a tray lined with baking paper.

    4. Press the ball into a 10mm thick round biscuit and cut to a pumpkin shape.

    5. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until the biscuits are crisp.

    6. Let cool on a cooling rack before serving or storing.

You can also dip the biscuits in melted carob buttons for that extra yumminess! Definitely drool-worthy and Bowie approves!
