Agility Dog Club of SA Agility & Jumping Trials - March 21

Agility Dog Club of SA hosts the Twilight Agility and Jumping Trials on March 21

On Saturday 21st March 2020, the Agility Dog Club of SA hosts the Twilight Agility and Jumping Trials at Pedigree Park (West Beach), featuring a full evening of competition starting at 6pm.

The sport drew crowds at previous public events including the recent demonstrations at the Australian International 3 Day Event, Dogs Day Out at Coromandel Valley and the RSPCA Pawfect Market at the Adelaide Lightning game at Titanium Stadium in December.

This competition is another opportunity for the public to learn about a sport that involves handlers running courses with their dogs and directing them through a course of jumps, tunnels, weaving poles and other obstacles

As with the equestrian sport of showjumping, it’s the fastest clear round that wins and it’s a sport nearly anyone can get involved in with the family pet.

Dog agility is a sport suitable for most breeds with canines as small as Pugs and Jack Russell Terriers right up to large breeds such as DobermansGolden Retrievers, Collies and Labradors plus working breeds such as KelpiesBorder Collies and Australian Shepherds.

Handlers can be any age with everyone from teenagers to seniors taking part in training and competing dogs and if any spectators are interested in looking to join a club and start training there will be information available at the event.

Agility Dog Club of SA runs intro classes the first Thursday of each month, from March to November and also offers puppy agility classes at Thursday night training for dogs under 12 months of age.

Action starts on the day at 6pm and should run through until 9pm – entry and parking is free and families are welcome to bring a picnic blanket and find a spot ringside to watch the action with onsite catering available.

When: Saturday 27th July 2019, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Where: Pedigree Park (German Shepherd Dog Club grounds, adjacent Barrett Reserve), West Beach Road, West Beach, SA.
