Rufus & Coco are today launching their first ever premium pet salon ‘The Fur Salon by Rufus & Coco’ in Mosman, to continue in their mission to help pets look good and feel great.

Serving up puppicinos and kitticinos with each treatment, The Fur Salon will offer a premium and personalised service from start to finish. 

Pawrents will have detailed consults with expert ‘furologists’ (groomers) before selecting their treatment from a Shampoodle (wash) through to The Vanity Fur (wash, blow dry, ear clean, pawdicure and style cut). Specialty spa treatments are on offer too, from blueberry facials to wellbeing massages with a qualified pet masseuse.

As a leader in pet grooming products with ten successful years selling through pet specialty stores, online and major grocery channels in Australia (including Coles, Woolworths and IGA), this launch marks the retailer’s expansion into service provision.

Australia’s pet grooming industry is experiencing significant growth, up 33% from 2013-2016, with $600 million spent on pet grooming last year alone as pet parents continue to embrace the ‘outsourcing’ of pet care, and to seek pampering and entertainment for their pets.

“I launched Rufus & Coco in 2008 to offer pet parents a different kind of pet brand – one that offered a premium, trusted and affordable range of pet products that are more fashionable and more natural. We successfully filled that gap in the market for products and can’t wait to offer our ‘Well Bred Petcare’ in services,” shares Anneke van den Broek, founder and CEO of Rufus & Coco.

The flagship fur salon offers a sleek and sophisticated design styled on beauty salons to attract the growing number of pet owners seeking premium products and services for their pets. Services will be highly personalised with groomers taking the time to sit and consult with clients and curate their experience.

Anneke shares “we actually settled on the groomers before we even built the salon, as we wanted the very best people. Finding great cat groomers was a challenge as cat grooming is still fairly new.”

Rufus & Coco’s entire range of award-winning products will be available in store, including toys that donate to the Australian Pet Welfare Foundation, collars and leads, shampoos and even the award-winning Wee Kitty Clumping Corn litter.
