If what you’re looking for is conveniently located pet-friendly accommodation near Melbourne, look no further than Crystal Brook Tourist Park. From here guests can enjoy easy access to everything the city has to offer, all whilst enjoying the peace and natural environment of a bush park.
To make the stay even more appealing for dog lovers, a large dog offleash area was officially opened on Saturday 11th February 2017.
The Grand Opening Day was also the occasion to hold a pet market and a fundraiser for the local Pyrenees Animal Rescue.
There was a great mix of dogs, children and adults who enjoyed playing in the brand new offleash area and interacting with the local stallholders of pet products and services who all came to support this event.
The new offleash area is for recreation under supervision from owners but if you need to go out for the day, the property can recommend services in the local area that can look after your pets.
Crystal Brook Tourist Park has a variety of powered caravan, camper-van tent sites and cabins all within a short walk of the shared amenities and some with ensuite facilities: 7 of these are available for guests with dogs (maximum of 2, at the manager's discretion). There is a small additional charge of $2 per night for sites and $10 per night in cabins (per dog).
There are numerous walking and biking trails leaving directly from the park. Wildlife lovers will enjoy the daily bird feeding, patting the wild kookaburras as well as having the chance to spot native animals such as kangaroos, possums and echidnas.
For people keen to experience Melbourne’s vibrant inner city, museums, galleries and shops, the city is a 35 minute drive away or 45 minutes by bus, which departs from just outside the park.
Crystal Brook Tourist Park is only a short drive from the wineries and boutique food producers of the Yarra Valley, the walks and scenic views of the Dandenong Ranges, the Puffing Billy steam train, the Healesville Animal Sanctuary and other major attractions.
