Pawsitive Steps, The Hills - August 28

Pawsitive Steps ®” is an annual event organised by the business and volunteer groups in the Hills District of Sydney.

This event began in October 2011 and aims to raise awareness about significant mental health issues affecting our community. Since then, it has evolved into the highly successful “Pawsitive Steps towards Mental Health Walk” and this initiative is unique in Australia (and quite possibly the world).

The fun walk is a distance of 2km: every 200m there is an obstacle  - things like doggy tunnels, tug of war, sled pull, doggy sit-ups, doggy yoga - which symbolises a mental illness and equipment for your dog to join in the fun too!
There will be four different gyms and exercise businesses to conduct the walk this year as well as dog handlers available to assist thanks to Agility Club NSW

You can walk with your dog, your family or just yourself and help raise awareness for mental health so please dress up and join in the fun! All registered walkers will be provided a breakfast from the local North Rocks Rotary Club

After the walk, you can visit the free Health and Wellbeing Expo attached to it under the theme of “The Art of Friendship”.

Positive Vibes Foundation Ltd is pleased to announce a 3-year partnership with Paddy Paws Mobile Dog Grooming Castle Hill. “Every day I see how pets provide unconditional love and friendship to their owners" said Sean Allen, the Manager and senior groomer, who is a passionate supporter of the Pawsitive Steps initiative.

Nathan Williams from the Dog Behaviour Specialist will be conducting numerous FREE dog workshops throughout the day. He will be conducting different sessions on different behaviours and will also be available to chat.

You can also browse the many stalls promoting re-homing or offering dog products and services including: DCH Animal AdoptionsPods4Pets, PetPacks Australia, The Naked Dog, Guardian Animal Soap, Jollie Gourmet Treats, Dog Pack and Sassy Treats.

Come spend the day with your best friend and help fight the stigma of mental illness!
