Cancer Council Bark For Life Walk - October 9

Join the pack and bark back against cancer!

Bark For Life is a Cancer Council dog-walking event to be held in Melbourne on Sunday 9th October, 2016.

This unique event honouring the caring qualities of a dog throughout a human cancer experience is organised and led by local volunteers. It celebrates survivors and carers (including the four-legged ones), remembers loved ones lost to cancer and fights back against the disease through fundraising and awareness raised.

Bark For Life held their pilot event in October 2015 with around 300 participants plus their dogs, which raised an amazing $16,000. This year they are looking to spread the word even further and encourage even more dog lovers to join them.
All money raised at the event goes towards Cancer Council's research, prevention and support programs.

Danni & Zoe's story

“Zoe is a little ray of sunshine and brings so much joy into our house.”
“I was 28 and had been married for less than a year when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. During my treatment, my husband surprised me with a puppy, and Zoe immediately became a very important member of our family.
She was there for me during my cancer journey. We'd go for walks along the beach and at the park which really helped with my recovery. Zoe is a little ray of sunshine and brings so much joy into our house.” – Danni, 33 year old cancer survivor
