Teach your dog to be a detection dog. Scentwork (Nosework) is coming to the ANKC. Get in now so you are ready to trial.

We use the same method as professional detection dog trainers (because we are). Positive reward based training, we start your dog on odour straight away (no finding food in boxes). Dogs will begin training on a single target scent (Birch).
By lunch most dogs will be moving on to multiple containers and different presentations of scent. By the end of the workshop most dogs will be beginning to work through basic scent problems. The theory day covers:

• Understanding the physiology of a dog’s nose
• Understanding how you dog perceives the world
• What is Nosework (Scentwork)
• How we teach Nosework (Scentwork)
• What motivates your dog
• Understanding the science of training
• How dogs recognise and work scent
• How scent moves and is effected by environmental conditions
Participants of this day will receive a 70 page colour booklet to keep which covers the theory of the day plus information to help them on their Nosework journey.
