2023 Comedy Pet Photo Awards finalists announced



  • 25 Funniest entries revealed in the Final Shortlist
  • People’s Choice Award open for public vote

The Comedy Pet Photo Awards today publishes the very best images shortlisted this year and there are some absolute crackers to make you smile like our lead photo, titled
"Barking" (USA) by Chris Porsz / Comedy Pets.

Among the top Finalists there is a cat performing his best victory pose, a dog pretending to be Zorro, a cat about to take a free kick and dog cuddling an orangutan.

The funny pet photo competition was created by Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, both professional photographers to celebrate the positive and vital role that pets have in our lives and to encourage engagement around animal welfare.

The 25 shortlisted images are now subject to some serious scrutiny from the judges who are all expert animal lovers to pick the winner. The panel includes TV presenter, writer, conservationist and animal lover Kate Humble, comedian and TV presenter, writer and all-round superstar - Mel Geidroyc, TV Vet and animal welfare campaigner - Emma Milne and professional pet photographer - Elke Vogelsang.

The winner will receive £500 (AU$953), a bespoke trophy and a camera bag from ThinkTank.

The 2023 Comedy Pet Photo Awards Winners will be announced on 11th August.
