Have your say in Guide Dogs Australia Survey

Guide Dogs Australia wants to hear from people with low vision or blindness – could you or someone you know help?

To better understand people with low vision or blindness, their challenges and issues as well as achievements, Guide Dogs Australia has put a call out for participants in a major national survey.

The survey is open to all Australians with low vision or blindness over the age of 18 – whether a Guide Dogs Client or not.

The survey closes on Sunday 19 March and can either be completed via an accessibility tested online survey, or over the phone.

Results from the survey are set to influence service delivery, inform advocacy campaigns, and support the ways Guide Dogs strives to shape policy and more. Results will be made available mid-year on the Guide Dogs Australia website.

In recognition of time taken to complete the survey, Guide Dogs Australia will offer 10 randomly selected participants a $200 Visa gift card, with Terms and Conditions applying.

James Williams, Chair at Guide Dogs Australia said: “We want to thank the community in advance for completing the survey and sharing your thoughts. With your input Guide Dogs Australia will be better able to meaningfully represent and provide services that make a lasting impact for people with low vision or blindness.”

How to complete the Guide Dogs Survey

1) Online

The online survey will take approximately 12 minutes to complete.

The survey has been accessibility tested by Guide Dogs Australia’s in-house experts, however, if you are experiencing any issues, you are encouraged to ask a trusted family member, friend or support worker for assistance. Accessibility tips and tricks for troubleshooting have also been provided.

If you experience any issues you cannot resolve, you can register to complete the survey over the phone.

2) Over the phone

You can register to complete the survey via phone by calling 1800 965 900 and leaving your details. A representative will call you back to conduct the survey.

Guide Dogs Australia is limited to completing 350 phone surveys, but an unlimited number of participants can complete the survey online.

As such, Guide Dogs Australia does ask that those who are able to complete the survey online do so, to ensure enough phone survey spots are left for those who need them.
