Greencross Vets is rolling out a nationwide service, WebVet, which will offer access to Australia’s biggest network of 1000 veterinary professionals 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Pet parents who can’t get to a veterinary clinic or need some advice can now connect to a dedicated and qualified team of veterinarians and nurses who will assess their pet via video call and provide advice and support.
WebVet is the latest initiative introduced by Greencross to provide pet parents with peace of mind at a time when many are social distancing and minimising human interaction.
George Wahby, Chief Executive Officer at Petbarn and Greencross Vets, said this new initiative will be a much-needed support network for pet parents across Australia.
“At a time that feels uncertain for so many, we want to ensure that pet parents everywhere feel supported. With the launch of WebVet, one of our highly experienced vets is now just a video call away for when pet parents need advice or have any concerns about their pet’s health.
“By using technology to provide this essential service, we’re able to safeguard our clients, patients and team members by minimising face-to-face interaction, whilst providing always on support at the touch of a button which is useful not just in these current times but also when people may find it hard to get to a clinic” Mr Wahby said.
WebVet is the latest in a number of initiatives Greencross Vets and Petbarn have introduced to make it easier for pet parents to access essential pet care products and services in a secure and safe way. Including a Store to door - Same Day Delivery service, Zero Contact Click and Collect at Petbarn stores, and Minimal Contact Pet Care options at Greencross Vet clinics.
Dr Magdoline Awad, Chief Veterinary Officer for Greencross Vets, said, “Thanks to our national network of General Practice Veterinary clinics, Referral Hospitals and Animal Emergency Centres we are able to provide round-the-clock 24/7 advice to Australia’s pets and provide reassurance to pet owners when they need it most.”
“WebVet ensures that pet owners will be speaking with a qualified veterinarian in a matter of minutes and will be given trusted expert advice and support from the comfort of the home.”
The service is available 24/7 by visiting www.greencrossvets.com.au/webvet/
Video consultations are $39.95 for a standard consultation of 15 to 20 minutes.
If pet parents still need to take their pet into a vet after the call, an appointment can be arranged over the phone with their local participating Greencross Vets clinic or at a partner Emergency and Speciality hospital. This online consultation fee is deducted against their vet clinic consultation if undertaken within 48 hours.
