Agility Dog Club of SA Agility & Jumping Trials - July 27

Agility Dog Club of SA will host the Gwenda Baker Memorial July Agility and Jumping Trials featuring a full day of competition on Saturday 27th July 2019.

The morning events will be starting at 9am, followed by afternoon events from 1pm.

The Gwenda Baker Memorial July Agility and Jumping Trials will be held at Pedigree Park (German Shepherd Dog Club of SA Inc grounds, adjacent Barrett Reserve) in West Beach.

After the sport drew crowds at previous public events including the ADCSA recent Agility & Jumping Trials in April and Games trials in late May this competition is another opportunity for the public to learn about a sport that involves handlers running courses with their dogs and directing them through a course of jumps, tunnels, weaving poles and other obstacles

As with the equestrian sport of showjumping, it’s the fastest clear round that wins and it’s a sport nearly anyone can get involved in with their family pet.

Dog agility is a sport suitable for most breeds with canines as small as Pugs and Jack Russell Terriers right up to large breeds such as Dobermans, Golden Retrievers, Collies and Labradors plus working breeds such as Kelpies, Border Collies and Australian Shepherds.

Handlers can be any age, with everyone from teenagers to seniors taking part in training and competing dogs.
If any spectators are interested in looking to join a club and start training there will be information available at the event.

Action starts on the day at 9am and should run through until 4pm. Entry and parking are free and families are welcome to bring a picnic blanket and find a spot ringside to watch the action with onsite catering available.

When: Saturday 27th July 2019, from 9:00am to 4:00pm

Where: Pedigree Park (German Shepherd Dog Club grounds, adjacent Barrett Reserve), West Beach Road, West Beach, SA.
