Paws at the Park presents Miami Barketta on Sunday 28th April 2019.
Jenna Schroeder and Lia Ferguson may be the craziest dog ladies on the Gold Coast. Many people love their dogs, but these ladies take it to the next level. On Sunday, April 28 they’ll be taking over the iconic Miami Marketta space to host the ultimate creative Sunday session for dog lovers – Paws at the Park presents Miami Barketta.
On offer at Miami Barketta are four creative sessions including:
- Paint your Pet and Sip class
- Make your own Macrame lead class
- Watercolour painting class
- DIY Snuffle Mat class.
All profits from these classes will be donated to Animal Welfare League of QLD (AWLQ). For the less crafty, there will also be free entry to the dog-centric market, live music and licensed bar.
The dog crazy duo run Australia’s largest free dog market event, Paws at the Park, which in its fourth year has grown to become the Gold Coast’s favourite dog event and has raised close to $20k for the Animal Welfare League of Qld.
After rescuing her dog Ruby, Jenna combined her love for dogs and ice cream and became the owner of Hugo’s Ice Creamery, dog-friendly ice cream. At a local market, she met Lia, who founded a dog homewares business, oodle&co, born out of the love for her Cavoodle, Piper.
The ladies both saw the need to create a place where dog lovers and dog related small businesses could come together in market style environment and as a result, created the event Paws at the Park.
Their main Gold Coast event is held in Mudgeeraba each year, attracting thousands of dog lovers. Attendees enjoys the events so much that there was the demand to have more events throughout the year.
“We wanted to create more events that we could host throughout the year to compliment our large event in August which has become so well known.” Lia said “I frequent Miami Marketta on the weekends and thought it would be an amazing space to host a creative Sunday Session for dog lovers”.
While Miami Barketta doesn’t allow dogs on premise, Miami Barketta will still provide a great day out for furparents. “We all love our dogs but we also respect that we can’t take them everywhere. We have created a great day out for furparents and they can still spoil their furbabies when they get home!’ said Jenna.
