Mad Paws Dog Easter Egg Hunt 2019 - April 13

Australia’s largest pet sitting network, Mad Paws, is hosting, for the first time ever, the world’s largest Easter Egg Hunt for dogs.

On Saturday 13th April 2019, at synchronised times across Melbourne, Sydney, Darwin, Canberra and Brisbane, canine companions and their humans will gather to begin their search for dog-friendly Easter eggs as part of the Mad Paws Easter Egg Hunt

Mad Paws previously hosted Australia's largest Doggy Easter Egg Hunt in Sydney in 2018 and in 2017.

This year, it is aiming to top last year’s feat by hosting the world’s largest hunt across five states at once with lots of fun games and prizes on the day

Thomas Derricott, Community Manager at Mad Paws, says: “We’re so excited to host the world’s largest Easter Egg Hunt for dogs. As Australia's largest pet sitting network, we are thrilled to bring together dogs, their humans and some of our 15,000 plus network of pet sitters to celebrate Easter together.

“With Easter being a peak time at Mad Paws as owners head away on holidays, the event also provides a perfect opportunity for doggos, sitters and owners to bond ahead of their Easter break.”

The Mad Paws Easter Egg Hunt will take place at the following locations and times:

  • Darwin - 10:30 Marlow Lagoon Pet Park, Palmerston, Darwin
  • Brisbane - 11:00 Kalinga Park, Brisbane
  • Melbourne - 12:00 Fawkner Park, Melbourne
  • Sydney - 12:00 Glebe Foreshore Parks, Glebe, Sydney
  • Canberra - 12:00 Yarralumla Dog Park, Banks Street, Canberra

While Mad Paws Easter Egg Hunt will feature entirely dog-friendly Easter Eggs, it's important to remind pet owners of the dangers of feeding chocolate to dogs. TV Vet Dr Louisa Fenny, from Pawssum Vet to Home Services, advises: "Be sure to keep your chocolate stash well out of reach of your pets because ingestion can be fatal – even a small amount of chocolate."

The Mad Paws Easter Egg Hunt is free and open to everyone.
