Iconic, world-class Guide Dog training centre in Sydney refurbished with a new vision for accessibility Guide Dogs NSW/ACT is announcing the refurbishment of the iconic Guide Dogs Centre in Glossodia, near Windsor in Sydney’s west. The upgrade is set to enhance operations and strengthen the organisations commitment to supporting those with low vision or blindness across the state.
Home to the world-class dog services, the much-loved Guide Dogs Centre in Glossodia features an administration building, onsite veterinary clinic, breeding centre, kennels, outdoor training facilities and dog recreation spaces.

The Administration building, which originally opened in 2000, has now been reimagined by Wool+Hay Architects, transforming it into a vibrant and welcoming space which sets the gold standards of modern accessibility, inclusivity and sustainability.
The training facilities have also been upgraded to enhance the organisations dog services, including a brand-new puppy enrichment space to offer a dedicated place for young pups to train, rest and play.

The refurbishment of the Guide Dogs Centre in Glossodia follows the recent opening of Guide Dogs NSW/ACT brand new spaces in Newcastle and Canberra late last year. As well as the award winning flagship premises in St Leonards, Sydney, which opened its doors to the community in 2022.
All spaces have become vital hubs for the local communities and supported Guide Dogs mission to continue to invest in regional NSW/ACT and maximise impact for the community.
About the Guide Dogs Centre
The Guide Dogs Centre is our world-class facility where Guide Dogs live and learn crucial skills. The Centre is located at Glossodia, near Windsor in Sydney’s west.
The Centre’s design draws on international expertise and the considerable experience of our Guide Dogs team. The result is a world-class facility, which includes:
- Three kennel blocks filled with the latest creature comforts.
- A 1.4 km training track that winds its way through the grounds.
- An onsite veterinary clinic that includes an operating theatre and digital x-ray machine
- Recreation areas where dogs can run free and socialise
- A state-of-the-art breeding centre.
