Hinge and Uber partner to help single dog owners find love

Hinge, the dating app designed to be deleted, has today announced its partnership with Uber to treat single dog owners to a first date.

For nearly two weeks, up to 10,000 Aussie Hinge users now get the chance to enjoy 50% off two Uber Pet trips so they can safely and conveniently transport their fur babies to and from their first date, and make sure their Hinge match is pooch-approved.

According to the latest Hinge survey, the majority (71%) of Aussie Hinge users said their potential partner’s first reaction to their pet is important. Additionally, close to two in three (64%) Aussie Hinge users said their potential partner disliking or not getting along with their pet is a deal breaker.

Pets are our loyal companions and highly valued family members. They also make the ultimate wingman as close to half (43%) of Aussie Hinge users are more drawn to those who own pets, particularly dog owners (69%).

Close to two thirds (64%) of Aussie singles on Hinge think pets contribute to a healthy relationship, as pet ownership shows a form of commitment (57%) and that they bring more fun into the relationship (55%).

Dr. Kate Adams, Owner & Head Veterinarian of Bondi Vet and Hinge Puppy Chemistry Expert, backed the importance of getting the tick of approval when it comes to your pooch and a potential suitor.

"We know how vital it is to share similar values in a relationship, and pets are not an exception. Nobody ever wants to be in a position to choose between a partner and a pet so exploring how a date interacts and feels about your furry housemate early on is valuable.

“Most pets just want a little love, attention and acceptance, so uncovering this on your date is important. For those that might not own a car, it can be hard to bring a furry friend on a date for a vibe check.

Uber Pet can safely and conveniently transport your fur friend to join you on your next Hinge date, so you can see whether they are going to vibe with your pet or if you need to move on to someone more compatible with your values and lifestyle."

About Hinge

Hinge is the dating app for people who want to get off dating apps. In today’s digital world, singles are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, which is what matters most. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. On Hinge, there are no rules, timers, or games. Instead, you’ll connect with your most compatible matches, and you’ll have unique conversations over what you’ve shared on your detailed profile.

About Uber Pet

Uber Pet is specifically designed to give pet lovers peace of mind that their much-loved companions will be welcomed along for a comfortable and reliable ride. When you request an Uber Pet ride, you’ll be matched with a driver-partner who’s comfortable having you and your pet in their car.

It’s important for owners to ensure their pet is comfortable and safe during car transport. Check out RSPCA for instructions on how to safely restrain your pet.

Uber Pet is available in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Canberra, Newcastle, Hobart, Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Geelong, Wollongong and Darwin.
