Australia’s forgotten dogs captured in stunning image series taken on the new Nokia 9 PureView ...

HMD Global has released a series of stunning photographs of some of the country’s most deserving dogs, taken on the new Nokia 9 PureView

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has today announced a unique partnership with a group of photographers and animal shelters across Australia, to help rehome some of the country’s most deserving dogs through a series of exceptional photographs taken with the new Nokia 9 PureView.

Australia is a nation obsessed with man’s best friend. On average, dog owners post a picture or talk about their dog on social media six times a week, with one in 10 of our furry friends even having their own dedicated social account.*

Not all dogs, however, are lucky enough to have a beloved owner that will spend countless hours capturing that perfect Instagram-worthy shot.

HMD Global’s partnership with animal shelters and photographers aims to help these forgotten dogs by capturing the hearts of their future owners through a series of thought-provoking and emotive images, using the world’s first 5 camera array smartphone.

Renae Jackson, Animal Care Team Manager at Sydney Dogs and Cats Home said: “With more than 100,000 animals in shelters around the country, we’re thrilled that HMD Global is helping us raise awareness of the animals that are in desperate need of a new home.

“We know that capturing a great image of a dog in a shelter, and really being able to show their personality, increases his or her chances of finding a new family. We’re hopeful that stunning photographs, like those of former residents Bo, Rex, Barry and Fly, will help abandoned dogs looking for their forever home across the country.”

HMD Global has appointed a nationwide Dog Squad of photographers, a dog groomer and art director, to ensure that the #ForgottenDogsofInstagram will finally be given the profile shot they deserve.

James Robinson, Country Manager – ANZ at HMD Global commented: “Whilst dogs might be one of the most adorable photography subjects, they certainly aren’t the easiest to take.

That’s why we’re so proud to be working with Sydney Dogs and Cats Home, and further animal shelters, to use the photography power of the new Nokia 9 PureView to help capture shots of abandoned dogs that are looking for their forever home.

“Every picture taken with the Nokia 9 PureView is HDR and all five cameras work together simultaneously to capture the image with outstanding dynamic range and unparallelled depth of field, offering the perfect smart phone for photography enthusiasts across Australia.”

The Nokia 9 PureView device features two colour sensors for accurate vibrant colour images and three monochromatic sensors which give sharpness and detail; meaning no moment (or dog) will ever be forgotten again. All five sensors work together to collect up to 10-times the amount of light than a single sensor of the same type.

Dogs featured within the #ForgottenDogsofInstagram image series are looking for a new home and further information can be found here. HMD Global has also released a short film following the story of the ‘Dog Squad’ and the very special photo shoot they co-ordinated with four dogs from Sydney Dogs and Cats Home. The film is available to view on Nokia Mobile AU’s Facebook page.

The Nokia 9 PureView in Midnight Blue is the latest addition to a range of new Nokia smartphones now running Android, including the recently released Nokia 8.1.

Price & Where to Buy

The Nokia 9 PureView is available through JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman from Thursday 9th May for $1,099, with free Nokia True Wireless Earbuds (RRP $199).
