Cork & Canvas Paint your Pet - June 10

Melbourne’s popular paint-and-sip studio, Cork & Canvas expands to Sydney!

The first week of June marks Pet Appreciation Week (June 4-10) so what better way for pet owners to celebrate their loving furry friends than to participate in a Cork & Canvas ‘Paint Your Pet’ class on 10th June?

Cork & Canvas is a brand new paint-and-sip studio that has just opened in Darlinghurst (Sydney) following growing success in Melbourne. Located on the corner of Oxford Street and Palmer Street, Cork & Canvas invites Sydneysiders to enjoy a fun and entertaining art experience, painting and socialising with friends.

There’s no artistic experience required as Cork & Canvas is all about fun art, not fine art. Guests are encouraged to unleash their inner artist to create a masterpiece of their furry friends, whilst sipping on a glass or two of their favourite wine or bubbles in a relaxing environment. Participants must submit a photo of their pet for an in-house artist to pre-sketch onto canvas.

Great idea for a first date: does he really like your dog?
Founder, Melinda Janiszewski launched Cork & Canvas over five years ago, when she noticed a gap in Australia for a “fun and creative way to socialise away from the mundane day to day life”. Now, due to increasing demand, the popular paint and sip studio has launched its second studio in Sydney and has fast become the go-to venue for a stress-free, creative night out.

“Since we launched in Melbourne, we had really great response from customers. Instead of heading to the local pub or bar, this gives people something different to do. It’s a great way to catch up with friends and unwind.

Opening our second studio in Sydney, we plan to grow the business and share this unique experience with more Australians”, Melinda comments.
Art essentials, glassware and good vibes all come provided while patrons let their creativity run wild and enjoy a social drink. By the end of the session participants can leave with their own completed artwork.

With a range of group painting sessions on offer, Cork & Canvas is the perfect space for beginners to ignite their creative journey in a relaxed environment. Public sessions run for 2 or 3 hours and range from $50 - $60 per person, during which a talented resident artist provides professional step- by-step guidance on how to paint the featured artwork of the night with acrylics on a canvas.

Cork & Canvas also caters to corporate and team building events, birthday parties, private functions and can be booked privately for offsite events. “We have hosted events for a number of companies including KPMG, Australian Red Cross, National Breast Cancer Foundation, AGL, Ford, McDonalds, Telstra, NAB, Foxtel and ANZ Bank. We work closely with customers to create a unique and memorable experience for all our guests and can create bespoke paintings for clients”, says Melinda.

Open 7 days a week, Cork & Canvas is the ideal setting for a creative night out. Sessions start at 7pm from Monday to Saturday and 2pm on Sunday afternoons.
