Bark for Life Victoria 2018 - October 28

Bark For Life 2018 is a special Cancer Council Victoria event to be held on Sunday, October 28 from 10am to 2pm at Jells Park South, Wheelers Hill.

This is an easy graded walk with a difference wherein the lives of all dogs are acknowledged and celebrated, but particularly those four-legged carers who have helped their owners through their human cancer journey.

Dogs – of all breeds, sizes and ages – understand the emotions of their owners throughout this difficult time: the time to give a sloppy ‘kiss’, the time to be quiet at their owner’s feet, the time to ‘suggest’ a walk as part of a well-being regime, the time to put their head on their owner’s lap to encourage and support them through a tiring and sometimes challenging day.

There will be something for all ages at Bark For Life this year with a
Best Dressed Dog competition, Live entertainment, the Passport Challenge, Dougal the Cancer Council Victoria mascot, Body Attack workouts for owners and their dogs, the Tribute Tree.

Plus some Trick and Treat activity, Best Dressed Team, Blessing of the Animals ceremony, spot prizes, food vans, as well as traders selling all types of dog items and special food, plus some surprises!

Bark For Life spokesperson, Dianne Baxter, said: “This is an opportunity for Victorians to band together to show that Hope Lives in the fight against cancer.

We are encouraging everyone from across the State – whether they have a dog or not – to register for this fun walk. Bark For Life is an innovative event with a BIG heart”, she added.

All monies raised go to Cancer Council Victoria for research, prevention programs, and information and support services.

When: Sunday 28th October 2018, from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Where: Jells Park South, Wheelers Hill, VIC, 3150

Please note: Pre-event registrations close midnight, Wednesday 24 October. After this time you will be able to register at the event itself.
