The RSPCA Million Paws Walk is a fun-filled day for the whole family |
Registrations are officially open and animal lovers are signing up across the country, but with a fundraising target of $375,000 for NSW alone, there is still a long way to go!
THE MILLION PAWS CHALLENGE
This year, a new addition is the Million Paws Challenge. Between 20 April – 20 May, the organisers are challenging you and your dog to walk one million paws!
"The challenge introduces an element of competition to help motivate people to reach their fundraising goals, as well as important exercise goals for them and their four-legged friends" says Josie Sullivan, RSPCA SA Million Paws Walk Co-ordinator.
The RSPCA has teamed with FitBark for this year's challenge. This new technology enables owners to track their dog's activity via a sensor attached to their collar which sends data on their activity, sleeping patterns and behaviour to a mobile app.
Of course you can set your own personal goal or maybe decide to walk a million paws as a team. The Challenge is personal and you can choose your target. But if you do reach the target – what an achievement! Even if you can't attend on the day you can still take up this challenge.
Your dogs might be too boisterous, anxious or they might not be great on the leash. The Million Paws Challenge is still a great way to get you both fit whilst helping other animals in need, even if you can’t make the event.

No pooch? No worries! Even those without pooches are welcome to join in the fun. There will be plenty to do on the day with lots of exhibitors, competitions and entertainment.
