Didgeridoonas Woollen Dog Coat Review

Didgeridoonas® is an Australian owned company that began in 1995 with just two sewing machines and two people. By using the very best materials such as pure Australian wool, a durable oilskin fabric, the toughest stitching possible, their range of products has won a string of awards over the years.

All their products are designed in Australia and engineered to last a lifetime and the company is now proudly exporting to a growing number of countries around the globe.

We first came across their Insulated range of Cooler Bags and Tucker Bags whilst looking for Christmas gift ideas and then discovered their new Pet range which got us very excited!

The line includes not only two styles of oilskin dog coats (raincoats and woollen coats) but also a Carry-All shoulder bag and a foldable Doggie Waterhole for your dog walks.

Didgeridoonas Woollen Dog Coat Features

Your four-legged friend will be kept toasty warm and dry this winter during your walks in this Didgeridoonas Oilskin Woollen Dog Coat.

The brown oilskin is fully lined with pure Australian wool in a tartan fabric with a Blackwatch (Navy/Green) design.

The coat is fully washable but the use of the Didgeridoonas Wool and Oilskin Detergent is recommended to ensure your coat remains in pristine condition. Should your coat start losing its water repellency (after many seasons), you can re-reproof it at home using the Didgeridoonas Reproofing Spray.

The coat now comes in seven sizes to suit all breeds: from XX Small (back length of 30cm) to XX Large (back length of 80cm). The coat is also designed to be adjustable around your dog's neck and body (by 10cm or 4 inches for each coat size).

It is secured using two quality Velcro straps (one at the front and one around the waist) for a tight fit, so it will stay in place even if you decide to go for a jog together!

What We Liked Best

We purchased our first dog coat online last winter and it was impossible to know how well it would fit despite following the size guidelines. Sadly, we sadly ended up with something far too big that kept falling off!

This time, we opted for the conservative approach and chose the Large size (back length of only 57cm) and admittingly for our Belgian Malinois, it may not fully not extend all the way to her tail, however the girth in the XX Large size (72-88cm) would have been far too wide for this svelte athlete!

Aramis did not take any notice of her new coat and was able to move around very comfortably, including running at full speed and she was most definitely toasty warm by the time we came home and took it off.

As with any dog coat, a lot of your dog is still exposed to the elements (head/legs etc.) so they will still get wet if you're brave enough to head out in the pouring rain!

We felt this classic and understated style was perfectly suited to our area (outer suburbs of Sydney) and this coat is never going to date, based on what is deemed trendy next season.

You can't go past the "fair dinkum" pricing either and it shows you don't have to pay designer prices for your dog to be stylish! So if you can only afford one dog coat, choose one that will last!
