The Pet Show Melbourne 2025 - March 1 & 2

Australia's largest Pet Show returns to Melbourne with Australian-first features and unmatched pet experiences

A pet show like no other is on 1-2 March, 2025!

Australia’s largest and most diverse pet show is returning, bigger and better than ever. The Melbourne Pet Show kicks off during 1-2 March and sets the stage for the first premier event for pet enthusiasts in 2025.

A celebration of pets of all kinds, The Pet Show will deliver Australian-first features including a Flyball competition, as well as a Canine Disc competition – all who will be competing live in a new outdoor arena.

With almost 6 in 10 (58%) Victorian adults owning a pet and spending over $6 billion a year on their pets, the Pet Show Melbourne is a welcome return for pet lovers in the city.

On Saturday 1 March, the Vic Weiners Flyball Racing Club competition will be a spectacle that will keep visitors on the edge of their seats. Teams of lightning-fast dogs will race against the clock in an adrenaline-pumping competition. These agile dogs will leap hurdles, release balls from spring-loaded boxes, and dash back to their handlers with unmatched speed and enthusiasm.

On Sunday, 2 March, the action continues with the Canine Disc Australia Competition. Spectators will be amazed as talented dogs will soar through the air, showcasing their precision and agility while catching flying discs with flawless timing and boundless energy.

Other events that will see visitors be immersed in pets of all kinds include:

✔️ Dog Grooming competition: where expert groomers will transform balls of fur into furry works of art.

✔️ Cat competition: this exhibition celebrates all cats. Cats and kittens are judged by breed standards, condition, and beauty.

✔️ Scales and tails touch zone: The scales and tails team have been working with reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates for over 20 years and will bringing a range of slithering friends for people to meet.

✔️ Ant farms: for visitors who are interested in an unconventional pet, then an art farm might be just the ticket. Ants are the perfect pet for those who love critters but want to avoid the fur.

The Pet Show's Managing Director, Cam Just, says, “The Melbourne Pet Show is our most dynamic and inclusive event yet, offering something for every pet owner. With a mix of expert insights and engaging entertainment, we’re confident that Melbourne audiences will enjoy a unique and memorable weekend, combining fun with valuable learning opportunities like no other pet show they’ve attended.”

The Pet Show wouldn’t be complete without the non-furry kind of experts, and Pet Show regular, Ben Dessen returns as MC, providing expert commentary and answering all the quirky and curly questions about pets of every kind.

Renowned veterinarian and animal expert, Dr Katrina Warren, will be hosting the indoor stage, alongside her amazing Wonderdogs! Dr Katrina and her talented Wonderdogs will showcase their incredible skills in an awe-inspiring performance, highlighting the bond between pets and their owners in the most fun and entertaining way.
