Get ready for a paw-some day of canine glamour and excitement at the Pound Paws Dog Day at Double Bay!
Pound Paws, the Australian-based charity dedicated to reducing the number of pets on death row, is thrilled to announce its upcoming adoption event, the Pound Paws Dog Day.
This unmissable canine extravaganza is designed to raise awareness about the importance of choosing to adopt, as well as educate the public about responsible pet ownership.
Pound Paws Dog Day on Sunday 17th March 2024 is proudly brought to you by The Golden Sheaf, VET HQ and Woollahra Council.
The morning kicks off with a live DOGA session hosted by Puppy Yoga Sydney, demonstrating the calming benefits of yoga for both pets and their owners. The yoga session will be between the teacher and a rescue dog, to show the audience how yoga can help build connection between owner and human.
For those looking to pamper their pooches, the event features a wide variety of pet market stalls offering everything from designer wear to delectable doggie treats and vet care. Our sponsor, VET HQ will be set up on the day with their famous puppy ball pit, as well as Dr Geoff answering any pet health related questions from the public.
The Sheaf has crafted a special menu for the canine guests, featuring paw-tinis, dog poke bowls, and more, while humans can indulge in their own delectable menu. Stick around for the unique doggie bubble machine tasting, featuring donut-flavoured bubbles guaranteed to get tails wagging.
Pound Paws will have a variety of dog rescue groups involved on the day, with dogs available for adoption from Rescue Hub and Deaf Dogs Rescue Australia. As these rescue groups operate beyond Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, these events provide them with the opportunity to connect with fresh audiences.
Highlighting the day's festivities is the Best Dog Trick / Dog Costume competitions, judged by a VIP panel including Woollahra Deputy Mayor Swan, TV Presenter Danny Clayton, Dr Geoff (VET HQ), Doggie Influencer @manolo.pigmop and The Sheaf staff member and legend, Ashley. Dogs will be invited up on stage to have some fun, show their favourite trick, or strut in a fun outfit! Each entrant will go in the draw to win a fabulous gift hamper full of goodies!
The fun kicks off from 12pm, and entry is free. You can register your attendance below to go into the draw to win the Lucky Door Prize.
