Petsure Emergency Assistance extended for flood impacted pet owners

Emergency Assistance for flood impacted pet insurance policy holders

When floods devastated New South Wales and Queensland earlier this year, PetSure came to the rescue by extending emergency boarding cover for its policy holders.

PetSure allowed pet carers impacted by the floods to access emergency boarding, ensuring impacted pets could be boarded safely, and easing some of the burden on those affected.

The extension was offered between February 2022 and May 2022 and more than 160 policy holders that found themselves away from home, evacuated or displaced by the floods were able to board their pets, with the peace of mind that some of the costs were covered by their PetSure administered pet insurance policy.

During this initial period, PetSure paid out 100% of the claims made by its policy holders for boarding assistance and provided more than $67,000 in benefits to impacted policy holders and their furry and fluffy loved ones.

Owing to the current weather and flood emergency now impacting New South Wales, PetSure is again extending emergency boarding cover in NSW for those impacted by flooding. Customers impacted by the flood emergency can access emergency pet boarding, with their eligible costs being covered by their PetSure administered pet insurance policy from 4 July until 2 September, 2022.

“Our thoughts go out to anyone that has been impacted by the severe weather and flood conditions. We hope that this extension can provide some peace of mind for any of our customers impacted who need to find safe and dry accommodation for their pets. We are here to help,” said Lauren Terpening, PetSure Head of Product.
