Petbarn & Greencross Vets introduce new pet care options to minimise human contact

Petbarn introduces Zero Contact Click & Collect and Greencross Vets launches pet care options with minimal human contact for these unprecedented times

New measures introduced to support needs and safety of customers and their pets

Petbarn will be offering Zero Contact Click and Collect across stores. In addition, Greencross Vets has introduced minimal-contact pet care options for clients attending the vet with their pets.

Zero Contact Click and Collect allows customers to order products online and then collect from a local store, without needing to leave their car, simply by calling the store on arrival. A member of the trained staff team will then place the order inside the customer’s car. Zero Contact Home Delivery also available.

The minimal-contact vet offering will allow pet parents to drop and collect their pets outside the Greencross Vet clinics, Animal Emergency Centres and Referral Hospitals to reduce physical interaction and negate the need to enter the clinic if required.

In addition, Petbarn and Greencross Vets have dedicated landing pages where pet parents can find the latest information on the availability of essential items in-store and online plus Covid-19 updates and how to keep your pets safe and healthy from Dr Magdoline Awad, Chief Veterinary Officer, Greencross Vets.

George Wahby, Chief Executive Officer at Petbarn and Greencross Vets said, “the health and wellbeing of pets, pet parents as well as the safety of our teams remains our #1 priority. We want to ensure that pet parents can access retail stores and pet services including grooming and veterinary services, should they need to, whilst still following official government advice and guidance to safeguard our team.”

“We have introduced a number of measures to ensure customers can purchase essential items for their furry family members in a way that works for them.

Our Zero Contact Click and Collect offering will provide peace of mind to our customers that they can look after the wellness of their pets whilst still protecting their own wellbeing.”

Petbarn is also reassuring customers that stock levels remain strong. “We know stock levels are a concern for many and I want to reassure pet parents that we have a healthy amount of product across our entire offering and will be providing regular updates on our website,” said Wahby.

Dr Magdoline Awad, Chief Veterinary Officer, Greencross Vets said, “through our newly introduced minimal contact vet offering, clients can now call to discuss the option of a telemedicine consultation or drop-off and collect their pet from our Greencross Vet clinics-whilst still practicing social distancing.

If pet owners are at all concerned, we encourage them to contact us either via our website or calling their local Greencross Vets, so we can find the best solution for themselves and their pet.” Mr Wahby said, “These measures have been implemented swiftly in order to safeguard our 5,000 team members across the network who are here to support the wellbeing of our pets and pet parents.”
