Don’t be afraid to get down and dirty! My knees, elbows and clothes are always covered in dirt after a photo session, and this is the exact reason why I wear black clothing. I always get down low to capture dogs how they see the world. I don’t recommend a lot of photos like this, and keep an eye on the ground around your dog for distractions. Get down low and release your dog so they run straight at the toy or ball while you snap away. You can also get some cool images of your dog right at the moment they grab their toy. \u003C\/span\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: georgia;\"\u003E You can also experiment with getting your dog to run directly across the front your camera from one point to another, capturing them in full stride.\u003C\/span\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: georgia;\"\u003E The success of action images comes down to two important things, your camera’s capabilities and your skill level. Every camera has a different FPS number, which is frames per second. This is, you guessed it, the amount of frames (or photos) per second your camera is capable of capturing. The more higher end your camera is, the more FPS it is capable of capturing. I photograph with a \u003Ci\u003ECanon R5 \u003C\/i\u003Eand it is able to do about 20 FPS. In fact, it wasn’t something she had ever considered before. It wasn’t until the end of 2022 when she said a very difficult goodbye to her 12-year-old English Pointer Benson that her purpose would become clear and \u003C\/span\u003E\u003Ci style=\"font-family: georgia;\"\u003E\u003Cb\u003EThe Furry Folk \u003C\/b\u003E\u003C\/i\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: georgia;\"\u003Ewas born.\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"font-family: georgia; font-size: large;\"\u003E\u003Cblockquote\u003E“Benson (Benny) was my baby in every sense of the word,” said Narelle. \u003C\/blockquote\u003E“I got Benny when he was eight weeks old and from that point onwards, he was with me for everything. We moved multiple times during our 12 years together, including from Melbourne to the Sunshine Coast in 2021, and we had so many adventures together”. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAs Benson got older the muscle in his legs started to deteriorate and after needing help with stairs after a limp developed and a very uncharacteristic inside accident; Narelle took Benny to her Veterinarian. It was here where the subject of euthanasia was first raised, and she was handed a pamphlet for \u003Cb\u003E\u003Ci\u003ESunset Vets Palliative and End of Life Care \u003C\/i\u003E\u003C\/b\u003E(Sunset Vets). \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“When my vet started talking about euthanasia I was very taken aback,” Narelle explained. “Benny and I were so happy on the Sunshine Coast, we loved the sunshine and the beach walks and even though Benny was having some struggles I was in shock. Whilst I knew Benny was getting older, it hadn’t occurred to me at all that we were approaching the end. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“What followed was two incredibly hard weeks. Although I didn’t want to, I did need to start thinking about it and we visited another Vet who said the same thing. Benny continued to deteriorate in this time and became very anxious requiring full time supervision. Once he started stumbling and was also finding it difficult to get to his feet, I got the courage to look up Sunset Vets and make that initial contact”. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003EAfter speaking to the \u003Cb\u003E\u003Ci\u003ESunset Vets Care Team\u003C\/i\u003E\u003C\/b\u003E, Dr Ayrial, a Palliative Care Veterinarian visited Benson at his home the following day where Narelle and Benson were able to say a peaceful goodbye. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“By the time\u003Cb\u003E\u003Ci\u003E Sunset Vets\u003C\/i\u003E\u003C\/b\u003E came out I had made up my mind on what we needed to do,” Narelle said. “Being looked after by Sunset Vets was beautiful and so special and Palliative Care was not something I had realised was even available for pets. I have had pets euthanised before in hospital, but this experience was completely different. Benny was in his favourite spot on the couch and Dr Ayrial who attended to him, had such a calming energy. He was completely comfortable, and it was just a beautiful experience. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E“The whole experience made me realise and appreciate how special the relationship with my dog was and that by making the difficult decision to say goodbye when the time comes, you are showing your pet one last act of love.
