Pooches at Play TV Show - from September 1

Pooches at Play returns for a third series this Spring with some new furry, feathered and scaly pals to provide useful information and advice for all animal loving Australians.

At 62%*, Australia has one of the highest rates of pet ownership, with around 5.7 million* of Australia’s 9.2 million* households home to a pet.

Pooches continue to remain Australia’s most popular pet (38%*), closely followed by our feline friends (29%*). However, many households have more than one dog, cat, fish, bird, small mammal, reptile or other family pet, making this new series of Pooches at Play perfect for every pet parent.

Hosted by Logie Award Winner Gyton Grantley and Animal Welfare Advocate and Dog Trainer Lara Shannon, Pooches at Play will continue to explore the world of man’s best friend in Series 3, but will also provide handy advice on how to care for our other companion animals.

Throughout the 8 x 30-minute weekly episodes that kick off on Saturday 1st September, the Pooches at Play’s team will explore everything from overweight dogs, treating snake bites, pet anxiety, the dos and don’ts of wild-bird feeding; right through to caring for backyard chickens, animal boarding, weekly training and behaviour tips, as well as pet-friendly travel ideas.

They get up close and personal with a stunning Arabian warmblood stallion, Fersace FF, an 80 -year-old sulphur-crested rescue cockatoo called Joe plus Lulu the bearded dragon, arguably one of the most popular breeds of pet reptiles.

Audiences will also meet some of Australia’s smartest pets showing off their tricks in a new ‘Smart Pets’ weekly segment, and resident Vet, Dr Melissa Meehan also returns to share important veterinarian advice.

With lots of fur, feathers and scales, Pooches at Play delivers a fun and pet-packed half hour of entertainment, with some heart-warming moments and stories showcasing Australia’s love of animals.

Series 3 major partners include PETstock and HIF and series partners Big Dog Pet Foods, the National Dog Trainers Federation (NDTF) and TakeYourPet.com.au.
Pooches at Play is created by Lara Shannon and produced in conjunction with The Rusty Cage.
