Eden Gardens Family Fur Day - July 15

Simon Ainsworth, owner of Eden Gardens, has gone ‘barking mad’ and said yes to holding a one-off Year of the Dog Open Day for our fur friends on July 15.

60% of households in Australia own a pet of some sort, making us one of the world’s highest animal loving nations. We love our fur kids almost as much as our real kids! So, for one day only we have ‘a new leash on life’… here are a few ideas we are going to ‘run with’!

To raise money for Father Chris Riley’s Youth Off the Streets, why not book in for ‘A Dog’s Breakfast’ or join us for a scavenger hunt - $10 from every mobile dog wash and pet pawtraits will also be donated to charity.
We’re going to hold talks on the repairing those bare patches in your lawn, plants that are pet friendly and which ones to avoid, how to compost dog poo and kitty litter and even herbal remedies for fleas that you can DIY at home.

We will also be joined by Dr Paws, who will be giving talks on backyard dangers to avoid, distractions for bored pets and many other topics to help your animals enjoy the great outdoors. Dr Matt will also be running a Doggie Daycare at Eden Gardens on the day.

We hope you will join us (with Fido, Blue, Timba, Red, Spot and Lassie) for this unique, one day only chance to be a part of the fun and frivolity that only fur-children can bring.

There will also be some ‘barking mad’ specials, a ‘Best Pet in the Garden’ picture competition (simply hashtag #edenpets, with the winner receiving a $50 gift voucher).

There will be a Dog Photo Competition and kid’s workshops making pet rocks…and many other surprises on the day.
*BYO dog bag, some areas will be out of bounds and play nice kids…no dog fights!
