This fun-filled day features free interactive demonstrations, Q&A sessions, informative presentations, market stalls, plus a chance to meet with the Insta-famous ambassadors of canine adventure, Tom and Captain.
Channel Ten’s Mike Larkan returns as host and will be joined by animal expert and resident vet of Pooches at Play fame, Dr Melissa Meehan for a Q&A on animal First Aid.
“This much-loved and highly anticipated event draws in thousands of animal lovers to Central Park. The day is not just about celebrating what we love about our pets and the special contribution they make to our lives, it’s also about being a responsible owner and giving our pets everything they need to make sure they’re healthy and happy,” said Cr Stefanopoulos.
Expect high-energy Frizstyle demonstrations with the Four Paws Sports team, as well as an opportunity for your hound to take part in the amateur dog racing with the
lovable and dynamic Jack Russell Racing team.
The Famous Village Dog Show will provide the opportunity to unleash your pets fluff and stuff. Residents are invited to come dressed to impress or join the fun at the Pet Fashion Workshop where you can preen and ready yourselves for your big debut. Registrations prior are a must. Prizes will be awarded.
Other highlights include face painting for kids, and kids at heart, by the multi-award winning Juicy Face Painting, and a wildlife encounter with The RooKeepers, where you can meet dingoes, snakes, possums and even baby crocodiles!
The Centre for Service and Therapy Dogs Australia and Vision Australia will also be on site to answer any questions you many have about the important services they provide and let you know how you can get involved.
Pets in the Park is held in conjunction with Chadstone/East Malvern Rotary Club Family Fun Day and Sounds of Stonnington, featuring local school choirs, dance troupes, carnival rides, great food and community displays.
