Good Dog International Film Festival 2016 - December 2 & 3

Good Dog! is a film festival screening engaging films that include a dog. Now in its fourth year, this annual festival will be held in Joynton Park, Zetland (Sydney) on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd December.

In 2017 the festival will be screened Australia wide and in 2018 it will also tour the UK and US.
The festival director is Anny Slater who is a lawyer, filmmaker, writer and philanthropist.

All profits are donated to Australian and international dog charities. Since 2012, the festival - and its sister event The Easter Dog Parade - have raised over $10,000 for dog charities.

U.S. MovieMaker magazine named Good Dog! in its list of "Top 10" Coolest Film Festivals in the World-Out of the Box category. The magazine said "If it isn’t cool enough that each movie GDIFF screens features a dog, all of the profits are donated to Australian and international dog charities".

Some of the comments of past attendees include:

“The festival was a brilliant idea and Molly and I commend you for the huge effort and imagination that it took to get it realised. We have no doubt it will grow year by year just like Glastonbury, Cannes, Sundance. Thanks a lot.”

“Thank you for hosting such a wonderful event and for taking the initiative to even start it. It was great family night out for us and we can't wait for next year's festival! Thanks again!”

About the Young Diggers Dog Squad

The Young Diggers Dog Squad trains rescued dogs to become Assistance Dogs to support our serving and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who are dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD). This unique program is helping more than just the individuals. The Dog Squad helps Defence families to better cope with the effects of PTSD and saves the lives of abandoned dogs. Throughout this program, Young Diggers provide help and practical support to enhance the quality of life for both the dog and its new owner.
