Great Global Greyhound Walk 2016 - June 19

The Great Global Greyhound Walk is now a worldwide annual dog-walking event that brings together Greyhounds, other sighthounds and their owners to raise awareness of the breeds and show the public just what wonderful pets they make.

A little bit of History

In 2010 the Great British Greyhound Walk changed from an idea, thought of on a greyhound walk, into a real event. There was a total of 24 walks in the UK and 1624 greyhounds participated. The GBGW Founder, Janet Peacock, was both happy and surprised at the attendance numbers.

Since then, in its 5th year, the Great British Greyhound Walk went global and a total of 21 worldwide walks took place. In 2015, the number of worldwide walks increased yet again.

In light of the success globally, and as the event evolves, the event name needed to change to better reflect the global aspect and it is now called the Great Global Greyhound Walk.
There are four registered walks scheduled in Australia this year and you can find the details for your local event below.

Become a part of the Great Global Greyhound Walk family, join in the fun on Sunday 19th June and help us beat previous years totals whilst promoting Greyhounds and all their sighthound cousins.
